Vimla Memorial Charitable Trust (VMCT) is an autonomous body which was formed in 16 August 2018 and registered under Indian Trusts Act of 1882 in the memory of Late Smt. Vimla Devi wife of Late Shree Chandrapal Singh a great social worker and and retired teacher from government inter college, Hamirawala, Jaspur (Udham Singh Nagar) Uttarakhand. VMCT is a non-communal, non-government and non-political organization incepted and initiated a group of dedicated persons working in the field of socio-economic development of the deprived people. VMCT is completely a development oriented organization and irreversibly associated with community development action, internal and external resource mobilization to strengthen hand of community initiatives. This trust has been able to play the role to change agent in empowering and handholding of community in its operational area. Various communities have reciprocated VMCT’s sincere efforts. This trust works solely for the upliftment of communities. The focus of operation in the initial years remained in providing the communities suitable choices for self-development. VMCT has avowed to make world a better place so that humanity can flourish and evolve in a better way. This Trust is a non-profit organization for the welfare of the people, especially in the field of women, child, education, learning, research, culture, medical relief and services for humanities and eradication of every form of human suffering, not limited or restricted to any particular religion, race, community caste or creed. The thrust areas identified for interventions are natural resource management, health, hygiene, environmental sanitation, education, gender mainstreaming, women empowerment, capacity building program for all stake holders and sustainable livelihood program concerning the deprived class of the society. Creation and development of community based institution especially of women, youths and children was the strategic focus in these emanating years. VMCT has made substantial effort in understanding multiple interfaces of development issues among the communities’, Youths, women, poor and marginalized, on one hand and the role of administration elected representatives, and civil society on the other. While implementing different developmental programs VMCT has always been to secure peoples participation by using local areas. Depending on their structure and goals, VMCT can fill many roles like advocating for the unheard, researching and monitoring human rights abuses, promoting sustainable development, providing aid to those suffering and working towards social justice.
